Team leader at IBCII Frankfurt for proximity inducing drugs and proximity proteomics.

What is your main area of research?

I work on MS-based proteomics, proximity-inducing drugs, selective autophagy and cancer.

What was driving your decision to continue a career in academia?

Opportunity to research what interests me. Flexibility to being able to handle career and time with kids.

How did you find your current position? What were the steps you took to get to where you are now?

It was proposed to me through personal contacts.

What advice do you have for someone getting his or her PhD and looking to continue a career in academia?

Follow your topic of passion. Look for a productive environment that is fun at the same time. Make sure that you enjoy every step of your career. Do not engage in a position that you do not like just because it would look good on your CV.
